In Our Own Words
The Clutha Story
Clutha Trust Founder, Alan Crossan, tells the story in his own words of how The Clutha Trust came about.
Recent & On-Going Projects
Charity Hub
Our trustees have over twenty years of experience in commercial property development. This gives us the advantage to negotiate the occupation of empty properties with various landlords. Our charity currently occupies offices of around 60,000sq.ft in Glasgow city centre. We have created a charity hub that has facilitated and furnished offices for fifteen different charities. These charities have many different purposes and help hundreds of thousands of people throughout the world. The Charity Hub brings charities together providing a low cost base, within the centre of Glasgow.
Clutha Kids
We give young musicians/singers the chance to perform on the Clutha stage, which has lead to kids performing at two sell-out concerts at the Glasgow Barrowland. Other successes are some kids have received record deals and been able to perform at TRNSMT.
C.A.S.T
The Clutha Actors Studio appoints young graduate actors to perform plays at schools and theatres within local communities. Each play carries a message, such as anti-bullying, or topical subjects such as the power crisis. We include students and pupils alike, by incorporating them in our workshops and plays.
Clutha Pizza Foodbank
We have supplied almost 25,000 handmade pizzas to local foodbanks and community groups. Our pizzas are hand-made with fresh ingredients straight from the Clutha Bar. This has helped cheer up people’s day as well as giving them a fresh hot meal. The chefs at the Clutha Bar sent out numerous deliveries throughout lock down helping people in need throughout Glasgow.
Art Supply
We supply art materials to various schools. This includes all the essentials, from paper to paint, brushes and pastels. Any young person with a passion for art who cannot afford to start can be helped through this project. The kids then exhibit their work at the Clutha Bar for all to see and admire.
Guitar and Instrumental Donation
We refurbish and recycle musical instruments for schools, charities, and individuals. This has helped young people throughout Scotland start, enhance and develop their skills with their desired instruments.
Clutha TV
We offer a free service to charities and community groups producing short promotional videos. These videos can be used to help gather funding, show case an event or promote their work.
